He is a Mason, hav-ing attained Knight Templars degree in St. Pauls Commandery atNorth Adams. He belongs to the Berkshire Lodge of Adams and islikewise a member of the Masonic Club of Adams and the BerkshireClub of North Adams. He holds membership in St. Marks Episcopalchurch of Adams. Mr. Smith has two sons: Jim R., who is a me-chanical engineer in New York city; and Karl F., a midshipman at theUnited States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland. ^
