He is also atrustee of the South Adams Savings Bank of Adams. Mr. Smith isinterested in various community affairs that have had for their objectthe welfare and promotion of his adopted city. He is a Mason, hav-ing attained Knight Templars degree in St. Pauls Commandery atNorth Adams. He belongs to the Berkshire Lodge of Adams and islikewise a member of the Masonic Club of Adams and the BerkshireClub of North Adams. He holds membership in St. Marks Episcopalchurch of Adams. Mr. Smith has two sons: Jim R., who is a me-chanical engineer in New York city; and Karl F., a midshipman at theUnited States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland. ^
